The idea
Why this works
A private alpine estate below the Wetterstein with six spas, two hotels and a concert programme that brings soloists you would otherwise travel to a capital city to hear. It works because nothing pulls at you. Days are hiking or nothing, saunas or nothing, and the evening usually ends in the hall with a piano recital. Five nights is the length at which people stop looking at their phones.

The plan
Day by day
Open any day to see where you are, where you sleep and what the day holds. The map follows along, and every point on it opens the day that belongs to it.
A guided walk out to the Ferchensee and Lautersee, three or four hours at a real pace, lunch at a hut on the water and the afternoon back at the spa.

The nature spa in the morning, treatments in the middle of the day, and the rooftop pool late when the light drops behind the ridge. Nothing else is booked.

Up towards the Wettersteinalm with a mountain guide, or the cable car at Garmisch if you would rather take the height for free. A recital in the evening, with seats held for you.

The morning ritual in the finnish sauna, a long massage, and the last evening in the concert hall followed by dinner in the Luce d'Oro dining room.
